Volunteer work at the charity Tools for Self Reliance (TFSR) provides the rationale and helps to identify the content for the NewNeedle website.
TFSR recovers and refurbishes a large array of tools and machines, including sewing machines, donated within the UK. These tools and machines are refurbished and repacked into trade kits; blacksmithing, metalwork, carpentry, plumbing, seamstress and so on. The kits are then requested by African partners who organise and supply appropriate local trade-specific training.
